Replatform from Salesforce to Shopify

Based in Vermont, Pajamagram is a beloved sleepwear brand specializing in premium pajamas for adults, children, and pets. With a focus on holidays, special occasions, and everyday relaxation, Pajamagram is the first name in matching pajama sets for families, couples, and pets. 

The Project

Replatform Pajamagram’s ecommerce operations from a custom Salesforce database onto Shopify Plus, retaining legacy UX features like custom PDP,  color and pattern swatches, Instagram UGC content, and product bundles. Develop a custom Matching Pajama Set Builder feature, which allows users to build custom pajama sets for families, couples, and pets. Develop custom integrations for 3PL fulfillment channel Rocket Shippers, and provide ongoing support for SEO, Email and SMS.

The Challenges

  • Replatform product data from a legacy Salesforce database.

  • Accelerated timeline to have all products and the custom Matching Pajama Set Builder ready for BFCM.

  • Coach & train Pajamagram’s internal team to teach them how to use Shopify Plus, and Klaviyo email & SMS channels 

  • Work around limitations in Shopify’s new combined listings feature, and develop a highly customized PDP for Matching Pajama Sets

  • Consult with Rocket Shippers and Channel Ape 3PL on custom API

Our Solution

Next level communication, discovery, and planning

Considering the tight turnaround times required to hit our proposed June launch date, our migration strategy was to replatform Pajamagram’s product catalog in two stages. Using the information gathered during discovery, we prioritized the single-set products for the first round of replatforming, with the matching sets slated for round two. This staging method allowed us to launch the site on an accelerated timeline, which gave Pajamagram a little more time to familiarize themselves with Shopify Plus, while our team focused on the more complex and time-consuming custom features.

Creative solutions deliver a unique buying experience

Pajamagram is known for their unique patterns and exceptional quality, but what sets them apart from the competition are their Matching Pajama Sets. To have the Matching Sets Builder ready in time for BFCM, we leveraged Shopify’s new Combined Listings, which would reduce app dependence, and offer greater stability during high volume, make-or-break moments like BFCM. In working with the Combined Listings feature, we discovered a Shopify limitation that would require creative solutioning and extensive customization to overcome. Using every trick in our Shopify Plus development playbook, we conquered these limitations to deliver an advanced, highly functional UX feature that sets Pajamagram apart from the competition.

Transitional coaching to help our clients master Shopify Plus

After nearly a decade on Salesforce, Pajamagram leadership contracted BlueSwitch to replatform their eCommerce operations to Shopify Plus. In order to support operational efficiency, the Pajamagram team received extensive coaching and support from the BlueSwitch team to help them master Shopify Plus and the newly developed Matching Pajama Sets Builder. Through a series of live coaching sessions, one-on-one instruction, and ongoing support, we helped Pajamagram achieve operational efficiency prior to their busiest season of the year.
